Speak Zone: Spot Event

Speak Zone:
        Speak Zone is a Spot Event, a place where you can show your talent in speaking skills or to exhibit how good you are at speaking/communicating with others.
The Speak Zone consists of three Rounds:
First Round: Doozy
In this round, you can speak about your thoughts that are beneath in your brain or  you can come up with your new ideas which can be a breakthrough, or simply expressing your view on a particular topic or on any general issues within a specified time.
Second Round: Black and White
 In this Round you will be given a topic on spot (before 2mins of your call to speak) and you need to speak on the said topic in both the views i.e. Supporting(White) as well as opposing(Black) within a specified time.
The participants who got good score in the above two rounds will be promoted to the next round.

Third Round: The participants who got through the first two rounds will be eligible to participate in this round.
         The theme of this round will be announced to the participants during registration or at the beginning of the event.
Finally the participants those who show excellence in their Speaking/Communication skills will be Awarded with citation duly signed by the Principal of ANITS, and Head of the Department, ECE.

Confirmation

The Participants should send their confirmation with below all requisites on or before 16th
February, 2012.
You are requested to fulfill the following requisites:
1. Full paper/Poster following IEEE guidelines (sample paper attached) to be sent through E-mail.
2. Demand Draft for the registration fee as applicable should be drawn in favor of CONVENER
INTERACT.
Registration fee per participant for paper/poster presentation: `300
3. Registration Form duly filled in and signed by all authors and concerned Principal/HOD to be sent
along with the scanned demand draft through E-mail.
4. Only after the receipt of the above three ( Full Paper/Poster, scanned DD and scanned Registration Form),
you may be able to participate in the INTERACT2K12. The originals and photocopy of the same have to
be submitted at the time of registration.
5. Each paper should contain
a) Full Text along with figures not exceeding four A4 size pages in 12 point Times New Roman
following IEEE guide lines for page setup and format. (Sample paper attached)
b) Full affiliation, address and mobile number on a separate page.

Note:
1. The participant must bring their respective college identity card to the event.
2. Participant should forward their request for bus facility/accommodation if required on or before 16th
February, 2012. Upon receiving your requests we will intimate you the the complete details of bus
facility/accommodation.

The members selected for Paper and Poster and Hardware Expo should take a DD and send a copy of DD by scanning, through E-mail to aces.interact2k12@gmail.com and should submit the original DD after coming here i.e., on 24th of Feb.
The Last date of conformation for shortlisted papers through Email is 16th February 2012.

Description of the Events


PAPER-MACHE:  Here is a perfect platform to express your ideas and work! A team should consist of maximum 3 members only and prior registration is required. Mail your complete paper in IEEE format, not exceeding 8 pages, to our e -mail id.

PROTOTYPE-EX:  An exclusive hardware expo. Grab the opportunity to present your hardware projects. A team should consist of maximum 3 members only and prior registration is preferred .Spot registration is also available. Mail your details to our e -mail id.

EXHIBITO:  It’s a poster presentation contest. The participants are required to present posters on the topics mentioned for the paper-mache event. A team should consist of maximum 3 members only and prior registration is required. Mail your details to our e mail id.

MOVIEGOER:  Wake up the creative person in you! Make a movie of an event, incident, or a concept that got you thinking. The movie should be of minimum 2 minutes duration and should not exceed 20 minutes. A team should consist of maximum 4 members only and prior registration is required. Mail your details to our e -mail id.

ELECTRONIC TREASURE HUNT:  This is a funfilled hardware event. It has two stages. In stage one, the participants are required to build a metal detector from the scratch. The required apparatus and circuit will be provided. In stage two, upon successful completion of the detector, the participants will set out in the hunt for the hidden treasure with the help of clues. A team would consist of maximum 3 members only and prior registration is required. Mail your details to our e- mail id.

General Information

  •  Registration fee of Rs.300/- per author for paper presentation (All DDs should be taken in favour of Convener, INTERACT).
  • Every student must carry his/her college identity card and also the confirmation letter given by the organizers failing which the participant may not be able to enter the campus.

Students from Engineering colleges of different branches are requested to submit two hard copies of full length paper in IEEE format, not exceeding 8 pages of A4 size, 1.5 spaced, MS Word, Times New Roman with font size 12 along with a soft copy (preferably CD), duly filled registration form & D.D. A copy of full paper should also be sent through e-mail.

INTERACT-2K12” A National Level Students Technical Symposium is being conducted by the ANITS COMMUNICATION ENGINEERS SOCIETY (ACES), a society formed by ECE students.
  • To provide a forum for students to know the basics and keep themselves abreast of the latest advances in the subject and to keep pace with engineering trends.

About Department

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering is headed by Dr.Ramesh Challagundla who has obtained Ph.D. in engineering in the area of Electro Magnetic Interference and Compatibility from Andhra University. Prof.Ramesh Challagundla had an experience of 23 years in teaching and 6 years in research. He has been serving the department since its inception and is responsible for establishing all the Labs, and are being known as excellent labs.
Department was started with UG program in 2001 with an intake of 60, and subsequently enhanced to 90 in 2003 and to 120 in 2005. A PG program, M.Tech in Communication Systems with an intake of 18 has started from the academic year 2011-2012. The Department was accredited by NBA.
A team of highly qualified faculty members run the Department with specializations in Antennas, Communications, Microwave Engineering, Electronic Instrumentation, Signal processing and VLSI areas. The team comprises Prof. Ramesh Challagundla (HOD), 4 Associate Professors, and One Sr. Asst. Professor, 19 Asst. Professors, One Instrumentation Engineer and 4 Technicians.
The Department has well equipped labs with excellent infrastructure. Various labs in the Department are DSP/VHDL Lab, Digital ICs Lab, Microprocessors and Applications Lab, Communication Lab, Electronic Devices and Circuits Lab, Microwave and Antennas lab and project lab. Project lab consisting of 24 PCs connected in LAN is dedicated for carrying out the final year projects and for enhancing research activity, also R &D lab and M.Tech Communication Engineering lab. All the faculty members are easily accessible to the students for counseling and guidance on academic matters. The students are encouraged to take active part in cultural programs, technical student events, seminars, workshops and sports. As a result, the students are faring well in university examinations and campus interviews. The faculty members are actively involved in research and are publishing papers in various National and International Conferences/Journals. During the academic year 2010-11, 106 out of 123 students were placed in reputed organizations like Infosys, Syntel, Efftronics, TCS, CTS, Accenture, Microwave Astra, Medha Servo Drives, Wipro, Convergys, Persistent and HCL etc.
Department has an exclusive Departmental library with around 400 Volumes and consisting of E-Learning resources like NPTEL Videos. Department is provided with internet facility with 4 Mbps speed.
The Department has signed 3 MOUs with eminent industries Andhra Electronics, Kakinada; UTL Technologies, Bangalore and The Etikoppaka Co-operative and Agricultural Society Ltd, Darlapudi, Visakhapatnam District envisaging industry-institute interaction. The purpose is to bridge up the gap between Industry and Institute. Some of the problems from above said industries are identified and given as projects for the final year students and prototype models are developed in the form of projects in the department. The outcome of this is that the industries will also get mutual help in technical support. Periodically the Department organizes guest lectures by eminent people from academic, industries and research organizations.

Dr. N.B.R. PRASAD, an NRI Philanthropist from USA in memory of his son, late Anil Neerukonda, founded ANIL NEERUKONDA EDUCATIONAL   SOCIETY   (ANES).  ANIL  NEERUKONDA  INSTITUTE  OF  TECHNOLOGY AND SCIENCES  (ANITS) was established  in the year 2001 which is accredited by NBA, approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and the Government of Andhra Pradesh, and is affiliated to Andhra University, Visakhapatnam. ANITS is located in a sprawling campus of 30 acres in Sangivalasa village of Bheemunipatnam Mandal and is approximately 300 meters   away from the Chennai-Kolkata National highway N H – 5. The institute is 2 7 K m s from Visakhapatnam and is within 30 minutes drive. The college presently offers UG programmes in ECE, EEE, CSE, IT, Bio-Tech, Mech. and Civil. The college also offers 3 PG programmes in ECE, CSE & EEE along with 3 years MCA course.
